What the university offers

The brochure describes Guizhou Minzu University as a provincial university founded on May 17, 1951, under the Guizhou Provincial People's Government. It is one of the earliest minority-oriented universities in China. The university is jointly sponsored by the Guizhou Provincial People's Government and the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, and the Ministry of Education has designated it to accept overseas students with the Chinese Government Scholarship.

The university is authorized to confer doctoral, master's and bachelor's degrees. Its campus is in University Town, Gui'an New Area, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. The brochure reports more than 1,300 full-time teachers, including 206 with senior professional titles, 661 with associate senior titles and 611 holders of doctoral degrees. It also lists 938 master's supervisors.

The brochure also says the university has cooperative relationships with universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, the Netherlands and Malaysia. These relationships cover student exchanges, academic exchanges, joint programs, faculty training and research cooperation.

Who this university may suit

The listed programs are taught in Chinese, so the table is most useful for applicants who already have Chinese-language ability or plan to study it before enrolling. The range of fields is broad, with business, law, engineering, the humanities, ethnic studies, tourism, arts and sports all represented. Applicants whose interests fall in these fields are the most likely to find a direct match in the list.

Applicants who need English-taught programs will not find them in this brochure. The table lists only Chinese as the teaching language.

What to confirm with the university

For current information on all of these, check the official website of the university's International Education College or International Exchange Office. The university's official website is https://www.gzmu.edu.cn. Information from the official website and the latest notices takes precedence over the brochure.
