Liupanshui Normal University (六盘水师范学院): Programs and Teaching Language for International Students

Liupanshui Normal University (六盘水师范学院) lists 11 programs for international students in the Guizhou admissions brochure: one one-year Chinese language program and ten four-year undergraduate majors. The brochure does not state the teaching language for any program, so you should confirm that with the university before you apply.

About the university

Liupanshui Normal University (六盘水师范学院) is a full-time undergraduate university in Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province, known locally as the "Cool City of China." It is jointly managed by the provincial government and directly overseen by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Education. It passed the Ministry of Education's undergraduate teaching qualification assessment in 2016.

The school has 14 schools and 44 undergraduate majors covering engineering, education and science. Some majors are enrolled as broad categories. According to the brochure, the university has enrolled international students from more than ten countries, including Kazakhstan, Russia and Mongolia.

The brochure's table lists only the school, program, length of study and enrollment number. It does not list tuition, scholarships, application deadlines or application requirements, so those details are not included here.

Who this university may suit

The list is most relevant to students who want a four-year bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, biological science, chemistry, literature or tourism. The Chinese Language Program, which runs for one year, is the only non-degree option in the table. It may suit students who need language preparation before they start a degree.

Enrollment numbers are small. Most majors take one to two students each, so the brochure's figures suggest a limited intake for each program.

What to confirm with the university

Before you apply, check the following with the university:

  1. Teaching language for each program. The brochure does not state it.
  2. Tuition, accommodation and other fees.
  3. Scholarship types and amounts.
  4. Application deadlines and admission requirements.
  5. Whether the program you want is open for intake in the year you plan to start.

Tuition, scholarship and deadline information is not in the brochure. Check the latest notice on the International Education School or the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation's website at www.lpssy.edu.cn. Notices on that website take precedence over older printed material.
